Wait 'til next year....that phrase makes me sick-even though it's been uttered for well over a century now...specifically for the Cubbies. This year was different....in that it was the Mets who ended the Cubs dream season. I fantasized that THIS was our year ...especially since Ernie passed away earlier this year....I just thought the planets were lined up for the end of the Billy Goat curse.

BUT the Mets? Of all teams to end the Cubs dream season...had to be the Mets...? Talk about salt in a wound that has never healed since 1969....!!..when the Miracle Mets caught the fading Cubs (who had magic numbers posted in the newspaper) to win the National League Pennant. The Cubs faded so badly they almost dropped into third place that year.

Now I hate the Mets for another entire reason...I mean season.
