It's never over until it's over......and Yogi Berra may have left the ball park but he'll always be in our hearts.

I didn't care about the American League and I hated the Yankees but I loved Yogi Berra. I mean he didn't even look like an athlete. I never saw him play as he was before my time. So, I really don't or can't appreciate what he accomplished behind the plate or in the batter's box. His numbers speak for themselves..... and Yogi. Three league MVPs, 10 world series championships, 18 time ALL-star.....18!!!!!???....a lot of pro ball players don't even play that long.... and a slew of other highlights.

There's not too many athletes whose life 'n' careers are over shadowed by their personality. With Yogi it was his Yogi-isms....those verbal MC Escher esque pearls of wisdom. So many of them they were collected into a book. A one man quote factory....and this from a guy who never even went to high school.

One of his most famous quotes was '...when you get to the fork in the road, take it.'

That one like all his other's on the face didn't make any sense ....but then if you thought about it ....well maybe it did make sense. The fork in the road quote was from when Yogi would give directions to whoever on how to get to his house. The fact that would prove it understandable was that Yogi lived at the other end of a forked and looped no matter which fork you took it would get you to his house.

So- remember 'you can observe a lot by watching'.

RIP Yogi....
