Killed

This cartoon was killed NOT by the editor but by the layout person. He decided that his personal interpretation of the race day weather forcecast did not fit the messaage of my cartoon. He felt it wouldn't be hot enough to have vultures at the finish line and he said he didn't want to embarrass the newspaper. SO- without mentioning it to anybody he decided to remove my editor endorsed local cartoon and replace it with a syndicated cartoon. The six or so runners who collapsed from heat exhaustion during the race didn't agree with the layout person's forecast. Come Monday morning the editor was as surprised as I was and was curious as to what happened to the Bloomsday race cartoon. Just when you don't think it can't get any stranger................
